General Contracting for the Jacksonville Center for Public Safety was provided by Clancy & Theys Construction Company. Construction of a new two-story building of approximately 95,000 SF, 5 dragons slotincluding site work, general construction, fire protection, plumbing, mechanical and electrical work. The project includes the realignment of Court Street, demolition of the existing two-story Police and Fire Department Buildings, and the renovation of the one-story accessory building. The building has state-of-the-art security systems, including bio-metric scanners, access controls systems, surveillance 777 slot machinesystems and multiple holding cells. Also included are four vehicle maintenance bays. In addition to serving as the headquarters for fire and police services of Jacksonville, N.C, the site also houses Fire Station #1, which has historically been at that location.
